This past week has proven to be incredibly productive for me. I've successfully initiated momentum in both my classes and my ongoing research. Looking ahead to the upcoming week, I anticipate an even busier schedule as my history class commences, demanding my extra attention until the semester's conclusion.
A significant highlight was my discussion with Josh regarding the selection of the ideal plant for my research project's "herbicide" experiment. After careful consideration, I settled on sunflowers as my choice. To gather the necessary materials for crafting my "tea," I harvested a substantial quantity of sunflowers. Subsequently, we utilized an oven to effectively dry the collected flowers. My next step involved grinding the various components. The sunflower's ray florets, or petals, the involucral bract—those tiny green leaves situated just behind the flower—and a combination of the entire core comprising the corolla, ovary, and disk floret, were all employed. Excitingly, I am eagerly awaiting the outcomes and optimistic about the results this approach might yield.
Furthermore, I received positive feedback from my former biology instructor in response to my project. He kindly extended his willingness to provide guidance and suggestions. I fully intend to take him up on this offer, appreciating the opportunity to benefit from his expertise.
